Check through the paperwork with the car, it may be written down somewhere. Four digits.
Input is easiest via the steering wheel controls if fitted.
Before you do anything else, dig the car's handbook out of your glovebox (and the one for your audio system, if it's separate) and look to see if the code is written there. (It's often on, or inside, the front or back cover).

If it's not written down anywhere you'll have to pay to get it. Any main dealer can get it for you, usually just from the vehicle's registration number or chassis number (assuming that it's the original radio, fitted by the manufacturer, of course). That way you won't have to remove the radio to find its serial number.

Otherwise you'll have to remove the radio (which might require the use of a special tool), find the serial number and then use one of the online sites that offer to provide radio codes, such as this popular one:
https://www.radio-code.co.uk/
(Note that there are links, at the top of that page, to help you work out how to remove the radio and how to input the code).
Just phone the main dealership they will happily find it for you for free. I did it with the CRV and RAV4
>>> they will happily find it for you for free

Possibly if you bought the car from there but perhaps not if you bought it secondhand. The Ford dealership I used to work for (several years ago) charged £15 for a radio code. Since they probably had to pay Ford to obtain it themselves, I couldn't imagine them offering it for free unless it was to a particularly valued customer.

I think it's worth paying a bit to get Renault to do it for me. It was secondhand. I'm bad enough on computer technology let alone car steering wheels, I couldn't even find the bonnet release without googling!
Well Chris I approached bother dealerships here and neither charged me.

I thought giving Radio Codes on AB was a bit of a NO NO!
It is but no one has actually given a code.

@ 20:32, I didn't say they had, did I!
Tony, I never needed to remove my radio (good job really as they are built in!!)
Probably a Renault thing ( removing radio to get security code ), Islay.
So why point out it's a NO NO?

Because no-one seems to have remembered.
Nissan wanted £50 for a radio code for Mr Mayd's 2003 car. We haven't bothered yet but certainly don't have the skills or the inclination to remove the radio, so probably have to give in and pay up.

Its seems to be the only option neti.
The dealer can get the radio code from the VIN of the car.
The only reason for that not to be the case is if it's already been removed and had a new code allocated by an after-market radio specialist.
Most dealers charge for codes but most haven't been visited by the formidable Islay. :)

I hope you get sorted out, netibiza.

Update! My daughter who isn't technical and is lazy actually found the booklet and the code and it is now working. She says she did it but my guess is she asked a friend. Either way, thank you all for your help!
