You've been pulled over for whatever reason and plod says "Would you mind getting out of the car please sir". What would happen if you didn't.

saying you're too drunk to stand wouldn't be advisable
They would arrest you and take you out of the car.
Like Eddie says, you'd be arrested.
Why wouldn't you?
Got his legs crossed because he is burstin!!!
But it was only a request. They said, "please", and everything !
"They would arrest you and take you out of the car."

But what law would you have broken?
Obstructing a police officer, maybe?
It would depend on your response - wording, body language and so on.

For example - "May I stay seated officer, I suffer from a bad back and try to minimise movement in and out of my vehicle ..."

would probably be more warmly received than - "Bog off porky ...!"

All police like to start any conversation politely, and aim to keep it that way - it is in the hands of the addressee as to how cordial the conversation remains - or whether it moves into less desirable areas of interface - night-stick-behind-the-ear-type-scenario and similar.
You have been pulled over for whatever reason the police had. They can 'ask' you to get out of the car , but in reality you have no choice. They can make you get out of the car so that they can check if a crime has been committed. Illegal substances in the car, evidence of the car being used for crime, evidence of the car being modified in a way that makes it unsuitable for normal use, search of the driver/passengers, there are dozens of reasons they can need you to get out of the car, there does not have to be evidence of a crime having been committed.
I remember once hearing that psychologically it is worth getting out of the car and going to meet the policeman. It gives them the impression you are respectful and compliant.

Staying in your 'territory' so they have to come to you is a bit antagonistic.

One point that was made though was that if you are very tall and likely to tower over the officer, it is better to stay seated so they are still above you.
I would do exactly what the Policemen asked sigma !
jesus dont do this in Amerikee

and for gods sake dont say - I just have my papers in the glove compartment
best to comply !!
The officer would not insist but would go on to say 'would you open the boot please sir?' Checkmate.
Worthy of note if you're driving in America and the Police pull you over, stay seated in your car!
I got out to meet the Policeman in Florida and he drew his side arm and ordered me back in the car!
I just thought I'd be polite as I do here where such actions are taken as 'polite'.

another tip, when I was stopped at 1am the police officer thought I was being funny when I said 'good morning' to him. We laughed later but he said he was suspicious of my greeting....
Just feign a heart attack, and tell plod there is a bomb and a body in the boot. When the bomb and gun squads turn up, tell them that the police car had accused you of speeding, and you are not sure why they have called for assistance. When they blow the lid off the boot, and find nothing, just say, see they tell lies to you as well.
