Some flash, some don't.
I believe that the “hidden” cameras are being phased out

but they may not visibly flash.
Average speed cameras don't flash

thankyou
HC I would not bank on that, a lot has been done by A.S.C.
The one's I've come across on the M25 flash.
But of course they are not average speed ones. They are, "we are telling you to go ridiculously slowly for no apparent reason except to catch you out", ones.
All the speed cameras are turned off in Northampton.
And in the West Midlands, not on the motorways though !.
TWR, I know a lot of people have been caught by Average Speed Cameras - but they don't flash, they constantly photograph and record
take it from me - cameras are everywhere.

If you see little "ropes across the road from one side to the other - they're cameras". Beware.
Ropes "on the actual road" like little bumps
No, they are not, Jenny
Average speed cameras do not flash. Variable speed limit cameras do.
Mind you, just because you see a flash, it doesn't necessarily mean you have been 'done'
most do not flash these days, most are ANPR. The old "Gatso" with analogue film are mostly gone. There are some average speed ones and they don't flash either. There are not hidden generally though placement may give that impression.
Well even the brand new ones on the M25 flash, Tora, often when no one is speeding
If they don't flash then they don't modify your behaviour that day, and possibly not until you have too many points to want to risk another. It would be a way to collect maximum income, deliberately.

Are you sure about that ?

The rumour was that not all has been switched off
I remember that one town switched them all off, then a while later switched them back on again. May have been Reading or Swindon.
