Mine was a DB5, they wanted £5k in the mid eighties, needed some work, I could probably have stretched to it but I didn't, wish I had now!

My Brother in law had one of those, as you say, nightmare to run!
Mark 11 Jaguar (a la Morse) in showing condition for £2K in 1985. I'd just started my own business, money was still a bit tight and it would have had to be my 'only' car; didn't think it fair to subject it to lots of travelling - she didn't deserve that.
A Citroen DS.
My very lovely and comfortably circumstanced dentist used to have a Stag but it got beyond what even he could justify. He used to use it as his drive to work car so I could drool over it twice a year.
TTT...similar story..in the late 70's my boss was tempting me with a V8 DBS..however the insurance company had other ideas and I bought a house instead..:-(
A 1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am 400 cubic inch ( 6.6 litres ), girlfriend at the time talked me out of it.
Ferrari Dino 246GT. Could have bought it late 70s for £6,000 which I had then in cash, but wife said 'nada' so avoided the strife. Now worth a third of a million.
Should have had that, Khandro. One of my favourite Ferrari's.
I always fancied the Mazda RX7 that they guy who used to service my car had in his showroom. I`m not sure I would have bought it though as I was more interested in spending my money on seeing the world. I think it might have been the first car to have a rotary engine.
That made me smile Tony ,reminded me of the Chevvy Monte Carlo we had - I had to go into the middle of the dual carriageway so he could pull out the hood was so long.

Not many cars we didn't try being in the trade for years at least Bill got his favourites all that mattered to me.

LOL, yep those 1960's / 70's yanks were big alright.
Girlfriend said it was to flash !, she didn't understand that it was the engine I was most interested in.

Not far off, 237SJ. But I think the NSU RO80 was the first production car with the rotary ( Wankel ) engine. It bankrupted them to many problems with the engine.

Cool!!

Engines! It's amazing I didn't have nightmares about them - on the kitchen table etc, still I learned how to rebore a block along the way, happy days.
Good gal Mamya. Bill taught you well.
My mom used to go ballistic at me, she didn't like me keeping my car spares in my bedroom for some strange reason.
When I was 15 I clapped eyes on the electric blue Lotus Elite that was owned by the DJ at the disco we used to go to. It was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen (at that age)
I owned a Lotus Europa many years ago, 237SJ. A right good bird puller, my mom hated that car ;-)
Yes, I could image it would be a bird puller!

that's cool car tony, I'm looking round for a dodge charger at the mo but they destroyed so many on the dukes of hazard that they are increasingly rare.
A few years ago I had a few quid surplus, it was a toss up between a Jaguar and a Range Rover and A Harlet Davidson Motorcycle, I went for the Range Rover, Ok, I actually bought three, one for best, one for Green Laning and one for competing. I sometimes wish I went for the Harley Davidson! Now I dont have any of them :-(
