Can someone please help? Some idiot drove past my car and smashed the drivers side wing mirror off. Needless to say they did not stop to leave insurance details.! I have bought a new mirror from a breaker but the casing is the wrong colour, I have the original casing from my car which is undamaged. I would like to know if it is possible to remove mirror and motor from the wrong coloured casing and put it in my original casing. The only alternative I can think of is to have the new (wrong coloured) mirror sprayed, however I would still have trouble fitting the new mirror as the fittings have to come from the inside of the mirror. Can anyone tell me if there is a way that I can either remove mirror or how I can fit new mirror?

Thanks Caroline

As mdoo says - if it's only the glass that's smashed, you could just replace that, rather than going to all the bother & expense of replacing & respraying the casing.
