I pulled over to park outside a shop. There was a car in front of me and also a car double- parked on the road alongside this car. I reversed a little to leave room between the car in front. At the same time, a car, coming from the other direction, pulled in behind me to park and we collided.I did not see this car coming as my view was blocked by the double-parked car. Do you think that this was totally my fault? Would appreciate some views.

I'm not really picturing this. Did the other car do a U turn and pull in behind you, so he was facing the same way as you, or did he just pull over from the other side of the road so you were back to back? If you were there first I'd have thought he was chiefly at fault, but if you were reversing you also have to check that there's room to do so.

Thanks methyl and jno. I'll try to explain it better! I was parked on the right -hand side of the road facing downwards. The other car came from the opposite direction (going up the street) and was pulling in behind me so we would have been back to back but we collided before that. The back of my car hit his passenger door.
