We have a personalised car registration plate we want to sell its FIL and then 4 numbers. How can I find out how much it's worth and also where is the best place to advertise it. Thanks.

Depending on the numbers it could be worth £750 if sold privately or a little more via a dealer.You could advertise on Ebay for minimal cost, or one of the many dealers for a commission only sale.Is the plate on a v778 retention document or on the vehicle?

It's on retention.

Hi Flutter,

You could try contacting Reg Transfers (they have a website). They will give you a value for your plate, but you don't have to take their recommendation. I think they do charge commission on any sale, though.
