Does anyone know the maximum car widths (including if possible wing mirrors) allowed in the UK?

I don't think there is a statute on this, it's just a case of manufacturers being practical and producing what they can sell. Even leaving aide trucks/coaches there are some very wide US cars etc.

If it is more than 2.9 metres it is an 'abnormal load' and has to follow the regulations:

fair enough, I've seen some wide stuff out there it seems 2.5 metres is the limit for standard cars.

We have a Ferrari Testarossa that goes past our house occasionally. It seems to be the stupidest, widest car that will fit on our roads !
That Ferrari is 1976 mm wide, wider than a Jeep Grand Cherokee
