On October 1st do we simply remove our tax discs from our windscreens, or do we wait until we renew for an invisible one?

You can do what ever you want, Maydup. Leave it in or remove it, it wont make any difference.
Mine expires on 30th September so I shall just remove mine.

I was told after renewing online that they wouldn't be sending me one .....sob!

Mine is good for another few months, but there's no reason to continue displaying it then?
No point after Oct 1st, Maydup.

LOL, same here, SlackAlice. I was gutted that I wont be getting my little paper disc.
Another stupid expensive idea.
What exactly is the point of it?
I'm thrilled that I can pay with DD this year. It's always a worry how I'm going to find the money for my tax.

Well, it's supposed to be a money saving exercise, Daisy !.
...and I'm thrilled that my car is zero-rated...nothing to pay, with or without disc!
How do they think that will work?
New Zealand tried this and has gone back to issuing disc. No doubt after we have wasted a suitable amount of money we will do the same.

Yes baza, very popular ploy in the 60's ;-)
tony, also on white pick ups with scrap metal in the back.
Ah, forgot about those, baza. Wonder if they will have more chance of being done after the 1st of Oct.
they don't get done now so the chances of getting done in October is pretty slim.
Yeah, cop cars have those gadgets that tell them if the car is taxed, insured and got an mot but you don't seem to see many cop cars patrolling around these days.

There's no fun any more ......

When we were teenagers, we used to write - Tax in post - until we could afford to buy a disc!
