You can get a fresh Rack " If that's the cause for £30>>40, £30 to remove / install, if the car is a good one, that's the way I would go.
To add, what makes you say it's gone? does it need bleeding?, need Fluid? Is there a leak? It will be a light Red fluid.

Car rescue saying , it is the column or similar, (electrics) a fault with this car, they say either £6oo-£900 plus £60 ish labour, they have to get parts from Fiat, which are expensive. Also got a bad leak which is £95 dianostic plus this will be very expensive to repair, altogether, going to be a big bill, much more than the car, and every thing is seemly going, been a good car.I have no one to ask for advice or get help from. Main question is should I except the £100 ?

Bloke that came out with car rescue, said he shouldnt do it.

You should be able to get more than £100 from a scrap dealer, most offer at least £120 for a complete car and will come and collect it for that, pay cash and arrange the disposal certificate.

eddie - they're not allowed to pay cash , now

Colin and Jess, yes he was he said he had bought his sister a similar car, he said he was not supposed to do it though because of who he was, but he would call me in a couple of days
OK an instant bank transfer then they can do that.
It's best to get a company which has an authorised treatment facility to buy the car , cos they will pay you more than a ordinary scrapyard ( as i found out recently )
Question Author
Bazile, do you mean the Fiat dealership ?
Tamaris, the rescue does not seem to know a lot! Give out your car's Reg / Year / have a look at you local Family Run Garages for Quotes, do not take the £100, its worth more than that, some on here including myself will advise you regards what to do, but do not jump to quick at the Money.

Twr I am not a young woman and I have no one to help that is why I am unsure what I should do
What i'm saying is that if you are going to scrap the car , then cut out the ordinary scrap yard dealer and go to a company which operates a treatment facility , cos they will pay you more than the scrap yard dealer
Just been on Ebay, there is one on that for £22---? This person that's offered you £100 is taking the Izzzz, what area are you in, without giving too much detail regards your Address, I will see if there is a Scrap Yard Nearby, someone on here may be in your area that can help, if your in our area of Lanc's, I would help
its got bad leak and needs £95 to diagnose, if its a bad leak surely it'd be pretty obvious where its coming from.

As TWR has said, its unlikely to cost even close to the £1000+ you've been told.

If the cars not drivable try some local mobile mechanics see what they say.

Also I've recently scrapped a car and got £200 scrap value (ok it was a bigger car)
