I thought now might be a good time to check how you intent to vote in the next General election.
Poll result

1. UKiP
2. Labour
3. Conservative
6. LibDem

Conservative voters will give UKiP their vote as a protest.
Question Author
I do believe that UKIP will take some votes from Labour as well Gromit, traditionally it would be good news for the Lib Dems.

Is it possible the Lib Dems could gain *some* legitimacy back over the next months?

No. They will lose their deposit at Newark as they have in the other bye elections. At the General Election they will lose two thirds of their present seats. It will be a long time before anyone trusts them again. Nick will bog off to Europe and Lod Cable will be kicked upstairs.
Lord Cable
There's no "Other" option there. Other "Joke" Party isn't quite the same thing.

I've forgotten SNP etc haven't I? I expect to recieve an explosive haggis in the mail shortly.
I am not sure the BNP will still be around in a years time. The party was bankrolled by the EU through their 2 MEPs. Now that they have gone and the funding has dried up, I suspect they will implode very soon.
I and J are more or less the same. As no one has uet ticked that option yet, you could make I Nationalist party.

Quite possibly Gromit - I've included them as when I previously ran this poll I had a cut off point of 5% or 10% of total votes from the previous election. This time I have tried (and failed!) to be more inclusive.

I'm not sure I can add any more options to the poll; apologies to those who would like us they're voting SNP/Plaid Cymru/For anyone in N.Ireland!
Question Author
That's an idea.

Will SNP trouble us South of the Border by the time the Election comes around?
Question Author
I believe that is their manifesto in a nutshell Baldric :)
Question Author
It seems they've just turned up :)

I don't understand N.Ireland politics enough to know who to include.
In the past men and women suffered and fought in various ways to gain the vote for the people, so for heaven's sake, you lot out there, use it. It doesn't take much effort to have a look at the various parties and see what they are offering in their manifesto. Vote for the one you consider will do the most for YOU. O.K, they may not be able to keep their promises if they actually gain a majority, but at least they will try and if they don't gain a majority perhaps they will be a thorn in the flesh of the ones who do. So USE YOUR VOTE.

Starone, I tend to think it is the dirgesome noises of the political class which do the most damage to the memory of those who have laid down their lives or taken to violence to gain or retain universal sufferage.

I always vote, but I wonder why sometimes.
For NI politics you could include:
SDLP (mostly middle class Catholics)
OUP ( a shadow of its former self. mostly middle class protestants)
TUV ( Angry Protestants)
DUP ( Biggest Protestant party)
Sinn Fein ( former Republicans. Some say they've sold their dreams for a mess of pottage)
Alliance ( liberals with a small 'L'. attract support from both sides of the community)
Sorry, ed, I ranted a bit there. There are so many who do not use their vote and then have the cheek to grumble about the actions of government. I have noticed especially that young people who have just arrived at the point where they can vote just ignore it.
Who will you be voting for Ed?
I genuinely will be stuck for who to vote for in the General Election. No party represents my views. I would like to vote against the Coalition parties who I believe have been a rotten Government, but I cannot bring myself to vote for Milibands shower. Tricky one?
