Bought a dangerous car. My rights?

At the week end I bought a car from a medical doctor privately. I knew it had some problems with the steering so got it a bit cheaper and took it into the garage. On the way to the garage I turned the AC off and I could smell fumes. I put my nose to the heater and yes I was not imagining it. Fumes coming from the heater. I told the Honda garage about this and they replace the exhaust manifold free of charge. I had already driven this car for 2 hours!
Do I have any rights regarding this especially as today claiming that diesel fuel is carcinogenic... The car is diesel by the way

Well I have a 3 year old son and what if I didnt not turn the air con off and smell this? I am contacting through his surgery. I havent been to the gym all week and my lungs feel raw! I am asthmatic so it may effect me more.
Your lung problem is coincidence.
Have you ever stood in a busy bus or coach station?

If you read the report properly you will see that the problem is with much older diesel vehicles, and even then a lifetime exposure to the fumes and particles gives the same risk of cancer as passive smoking. This episode with the car has not caused your lung problem.
so you are never going to take your son out anywhere near a road, big city or sit in a traffic jam ??
you CANT get an infection from diesel fumes, end off.

There wasn't much point in asking the question asking about your rights if you are going to ignore the helpful and correct answers given!
Look, you got a second hand car fixed free of charge. The infection is pure coincidence. Get over it.
