Car Sale Scam Warning

A friend of mine has just narrowly missed falling prey to a scam regarding the sale of her car. She advertised it in Auto Trader and within hours of it appearing she had an offer. The person didn't want to see it, just wanted to collect it asap. The email was in very poor English although they gave an English name. My friend called Auto Trader because she couldn't actually find her car on the site. Cutting a long story short, it is a well known scam and the next communication from the person would be asking for money to travel to collect the car. Of course, some people feel sorry for the person and send the money only to never hear from them again. Be warned, spread the word if you know anyone selling a car.

Beanebabe, this Scam has been out for a long while, there are some gullible people on the net I'm afraid to say.

If the person hasn't got the money to travel to collect the car then they can't have the money to buy it. You would have to be really stupid to fall for this scam.

Some scams are quite clever and some, like this one, are quite obvious.
Like daffy654 said, if they haven't got the money to go and get the car, then where's the money to pay for it ?????
Anyone who falls for this scam is nothing short of an idiot in my opinion !!

There was one from Europe not so long back, purchase your car " How this was done, I do not know" paid for it + shipping costs, ask you to take it to a port of exit, Bye Bye never to be seen again & Oh, non payment.

If they can't afford the journey to view it they can't afford to buy it! How silly to 'almost fall' for it!!!
