Re the Mondeo it gudders when you put your foot on the brake and sometimes it seems like its locking, took it to the garage and they cannot deal with it for 2 weeks, so i`m worried that if we carry on driving it it may be dangerous or do further damage They suggested I take it to the main dealer for a diagnostic test! sounds expensive to me

get someone to check the basics for you. are the front brake pads/discs worn or warped? in every case i stress 1 always look for the simple solution first, it's easy to overlook the obvious
2 if you really dont know what you are doing then get help. we all can't be mechanics just as i can't play the piano. in few cases you can safely let something develop like this but only if you are sure.

thank you for your comments , we have had it looked at by the ford lot, the disks were warped and the springs had gone so that was why it was guddering, cost us a packet but never mind were safe now.
