Lost MOT certificate. When is expiry date?

Lost MOT certificate and don't know the expiry date and neither does the previous owner (a relative). Have just renewed Road Tax online with no problem.
How do I find out the MOT expiry date?

Oh... I've never bothered to check that ↑ as I could never be bothered to dig out my V5C, but it will probably tell you if you check.

Phone the garage?

They must be able to remember who done the MOT.

If you take you V5 to an MOT Testing Station they will be able to print a duplicate for you - will probably cost you a tenner.
Or a twenty I think, or you could try this gov site

if you have the info required
Chuck - different routes but same result

Thank you all.
The enquiry on the direct.gov website worked perfectly with just the V5C . We can relax for a few months.
But do put it in your diary / calender so you know when you need to take it in for next MOT
Use this and never forget again !
