I have been watching this for a few years now, and although there is a few dodgy people/company's who try anything to get out of paying up, but some genuinely just don't understand the system.

My grumble is that there seems to be a lack of communication between the high court & the people/businesses owing money.

Today, two of them went to a disabled scooter shop for a debt, but the owners husband said he had a stay of execution, but couldn't find the paperwork.

He phoned the high court, and they told the bailiffs he had one, and they had to leave the premises.
Mind you he never paid in the end, and the contents of the shop were taken 2 months later. :-)

having used the sheriffs - it is all ballshot.... by which I mean

everyone says first off - " oi never seed dis."
and it sudduv gives them thinking time
and then they try "oi paid this - oi did you know"
and you can see the porkie-pie meter going click click lick in the bottom left hand corner of the screen
and then they try saying all this stuff belongs to wife/company/dog/ someone else
and then they say the company has ceased trading when it hasnt

why do they let them in in the first place wid da camera ?
because they think they are gonna film a Big Order ....

and why are some secretaries / front desk staff so incredibly gormless ?
because they know the boss is a crook and want him to be screwed on camera....

Tiger-box for example, the staff said sue him he does this to everyone .....
oh about the phone call to the court

I think he had applied to set aside the judgement and for a new hearing date and when the clerk of the court checked only the second had been granted.

I had that when a registrar ordered something impossible - which I knew at the time and thought o well see how it goes ...) and the next registrars said " no one would order something like that ! can I see it ? "
and when I showed them - they just said 'oh'
( and didnt give me the costs of the impossible order back either )
He didn't have a stay.

However the judge felt sorry for him and amended the one he had.

In the next segment he said he didn't know he had lost again but got out the letter saying he had lost and that extra costs had been added. Considering it was supposed to be his wife's business she was conspicuous by her absence, twice.

incredible - you get a letter saying you owe £4k and you think 'hey yippee I have won £4k'
I reckon he was so thick he didnt turn up to the rematch - and the other side used asolicitor and claimed costs ( it was a £1500 hike )
