Hi, do not waste time & take it back to where you have bought it, Are you sure it is a petrol faul? or is it the clutch that is slipping? Yes the clutch, depending on the driver that had the car privoius, they might have been a Clutch Rider.

hi TWR, its an automatic - had the garage out where i bought if from and they say they have now repaired it - it was the crank sensor?? im not very mechanically minded so i will find out properly when i pick it up later. they said the sluggishness etc was all connected to sme problem.
Hi, although the garage has sorted the car did the say anything regards your warrantee? make a note of this yourself with time, date, day, the person who repaired the car, also the mileage, you may say that I do not trust the garage, I also see Little green men in space suits at night as well, Do you get my meaning?

Thanks TWR I know what you mean :)
You say its Tip Tronic, Vauxhall dont do these but I take it you mean EasyTronic where you can select manual or automatic mode ? Did you try manual mode on the hill ? Sounds to me like it could have been the gear control mechanism, mine once went tempremental and had to be changed

hi mdoo yes you can pick between manual and automatic i thought it was tiptronic, sure thats what they said at the garage, i didnt try going into manual up the hill i just leave it in automatic, but wil see how it goes and try it manual next time. is it very expensive for a new gear control mech?
The marketing name is Easytronic I think it even calls it that on the v5 reg document. I was fortunate when the control mech went, I knew some one that helped to develop it and could sort me out a new one, it will be expensive from Vauxhall. Is this a vehicle you have just bought, if so take it back as soon as it happens again. The symptom I had was into ger, out of gear, into gear, out of gear, etc etc until I put it into manual. However eventually it wouldnt even work in manual
