Anybody know how to make it louder. It can be hardly heard on my 1.2 yet other people have the cheaper bigger looking ones (not k&n like mine) which are louder.
Is it the more cold air going through that makes it louder?

Thanks

K&N's are a performance orientated quality filter that can still perform an air filtering function and the cheapo ones are basically just for looking nice under the bonnet, and don't do much in the way of filtration, which is why they are louder: it's a similar effect to having no filter at all......plus modern cars arn't particularly loud anyway what with all the metering gubbins the air has to flow through.

If you want noise, fit a cheapo filter, or, better, get yourself a proper old non-injection twin carb car and take off the airbox: you'll get all the induction grunt your ears can take!!

Wow cool driving for a second there I thought it was highlights from the Rally de Portugal NOT. Does your mates mum know he rags her car like that LOL
Easiest way to make your air intake noisy is to drill a few holes in your airbox, a lot of little boy racers do that, sounds good and only reduces your BHP by about 10%. With that and fitting big wide wheels and body kits only reduces the BHP by about another 10%
