According to their advertising, ns&i claim that there are over a million tax-free prizes every month from £25 to £100,00 so the odds of a win would seem to be quite high, yet I have some which were originally my mother's bought decades ago and they haven't ever won a sausage, nor do I know of anyone who has done so.
Has anyone on here ever won anything?

Yes, £25 now and then.
I have a win most months.
Yes, every month I win something. Usually it's only a £25 or a £50 but twice I've had £10,000 and various amounts like £100 , £350 . I haven't checked this months winners yet . Who knows Khandro, I may be a millionaire. I'll buy the drinks !!
I would think you need to be owning the full amount of bonds to be winning regularly. I have £10k and have probably won 10 x £25 in10 yrs
occasional small amounts. When I had 30 grand's worth many months I did not get anything.
This month's £1000,000 has been won by someone in Leeds and someone in Kirklees. The person in Leeds bought theirs in September 2014!

Not me then!
Wow, well done to them. First time in the draw and they win a million. I'm not jealous... much !!
I can hear them cheering from here! Lucky spuds.
In the 1960s 8 of the people I worked with put half a crown each into a kitty and bought 1 premium bond a week and each received a bond in turns. 1 earned £3 2s 6p a week then so a big investment for me. We ended up with 8 each before we all went different ways. I still have them but have never received a penny. I can remember changing my address on them when I moved and assumed they let you know if you had won anything - is this the case?
Janbee. Relax and think of the many people who have won huge amounts of money and ended up penniless and unhappy after their wild spree. If you have good health you have everything you need to be happy. (Sermon over)
yes, I get a win(small) most months

My mum (RIP) never was very lucky, though maybe I should try checking them again, how do I do that, and would an old unclaimed win still stand?
khandro, yes , old winnings are still there to be claimed. Go to N S and I website and type in holders number
no time limit

BUT are they your Mum's bonds? bonds aren't transferable and should be cashed when the holder dies
Khandro, btw, I don't think bonds are transferable If they're in your mum's name, they'll have to go in to her account or estate.
Khandro...an old win will stand......type nsandi....and follow how to check....but are they still in your mother's name?

If your mother has died the bonds will only pay out any wins up to a year after death....after that you will just receive the value of the bonds.

I had a win from a bond bought as a child and forgotten about til I checked many years later.....

I win most months.....£25......to £1,000......good luck.
Khandro.
