Isn't it just!
I was laughing out loud during the first part, some great comedy lines.
Was an awful end to it... great writing but I mean awful as in what happened.
You're right though, it's gonna end in tears : (

I thought it was much better than I expected - Steve Coogan's not the greatest straight actor, & at the beginning I thought he was awful, but he did grow on me - especially by the end when he dropped the happy chappy overacting.
I thought the actress that played Bernadette was good, but the acting honours have to go to Bernard Hill as grandad & the little lad that plays Joe - fantastic; an hilarious and touching double act.
It's obvious this is all going to end in tears, but am looking forward to next week's episode.

Superb. I too was a little unsure of Steve Coogan at the beginning but he soon warmed to the part and the pathos of the character showed through. All the other actors were brilliant too - it will be unmissable and very thought provoking......

Totally agree, the grandad and grandson part is played very well... reminds me of my Dad with my son actually! : )
However, you just know somehting bad is going to happen to the grandad, what with the dizzy spells he keeps having : (
