Have you seen any strange Ads about lately ? I can recall a sign outside Jessops the camera people in the late 70s saying ''Say Bolux to your camera supplier'' & a gents hairdresser who had a sign in his shop window saying '' hair cutting whilst you wait''. I have often seen '' Family Butchers ''& kept my family well away from there, & then of course there are Baby Changing Rooms which makes me wonder what's wrong with the baby you already have.

I saw a sign by the swimming pool shower "swimwear must always be worn". That was over a decade ago and it's getting ruddy itchy by now!

A sign in Sheffield used to advertise 'Stainless Steel Windows'. I can't think that they'd let much light in.

A carpet shop in Boston, Lincs had it's window display full of 3' wide carpet, 6' carpet, 9' wide carpet and 12' wide carpet, all priced per square yard. The name of the business, proudly displayed above that window, was 'The Metric Carpet Shop'.

the late great fred wedlock used to tell of seeing a builder's van in bristol that had the slogan:-

Patel Brothers, Builders. you've tried the cowboys, now try the indians.....
I used to drive past a pub that had a chalk board outside that said
Good food served lunch times only
Never dared to try it
On a visit to Rangoon, a shop had a sign in the window:

"Genuine Fake Rolex Watches"
There is a furniture store in Northampton called Sofa King and it advertises its prices as being 'Sofa King low'...
More a spelling mistake this one, but I remember a hand written sign in a fish and chip shop which said...
"Fresh Fish and Chips Now Been Served"
Old weathered sign in USA: Slow. Baby figs crossing road!.

I think it said 'PIGS' originally.
