At least, I think it is - I've reported it to Virginmedia but dealing with them is as effective as a seance.
So, email asking me to login and update my 'eprofile' and ensure my card details are correct. Oh-ho! Thing is, the screen you are then presented with is a copy of a virginmedia sign-in page.
The url at the top is http://virginnetweb.co.uk, registered in June probably to Norty McNasty.
So I thought I'd share it with the AB jungle telegraph who might advise any vulnerable friends or relations.

That website has been taken down. It was (allegedly) registered by Michael Son of 28 Dulverton Ave, Westcliff-on-Sea, SS0 0HR

but I suspect that he might be unaware that his name has been used, as he appears to a reputable guy, as both a trustee and committee member of the London Taxidrivers’ Fund for Underprivileged Children:

err - thanks chaps - y'see I'm very comfortable and comeptent with IT - but it struck me that many AB users might have vulnerable friends or relatives who could be scammed (as I said in my post) so hence I shared the info. I don't feel even remotely patronised.
Its clear you are on the ball but if I get anything that looks dodgy, and I hope everyone else does, is to go to that site by a kosher link and see if there is anything similar or a problem listed. Like never click on a link in an email that sounds dubious.
