I am enthralled by this and amazed at his treatment by the police.

the writer (who also made The Queen and Frost/Nixon) is used to dealing with fact. He said he also immediately assumed Jeffries was guilty because he looked odd; afterwards he was ashamed of his kneejerk reactions and said he wanted to put himself under scrutiny as much as anyone else

Wait till you see the hatred press comments...
I'm not he looks creepy. Ok so the Police treated him badly but he was The suspect at the time.
The way the Press treated the story was appalling.

It's taught me not to prejudge anyone
It was his treatment by the media which was appalling.

First programme I've watched without multi-tasking for a long time!
Good stuff. About time we had something good on the box.
It must have been extremely harrowing for him, all the media attention and as you say Psybbo it makes you think twice about prejudging people. I just can't think why they had to make a programme of it, it's not my sort of viewing.
I think its an extremely well made drama - but then we do know the ending which makes it easier to watch!
Gripping stuff.

Ayg, I'm glad they did, it taught me not to judge people by their appearance

Knowing the ending or not, tomorrow night is a Must See!

Baldric, agreed, so sorry for Jo, her boyfriend and family. but I find this riveting

Knowing the end put me off watching 'Titanic'.
Just watched it on ITV+1 can't wait for tomorrow's. He was treated badly by the media at the time. But I am feeling sorry for him as although an academic he is not a sociable person.
I like the way he kept picking the police up on their bad spelling and grammar during his questioning.
Gripping stuff. The papers will enlarge on any story tosell more
If you find the Blackadder I episode called "The Witchsmeller Persuivant" (superb Frank Finlay performance, worth the 1983 licence fee alone), you might hear obe of the extras calling out

"The hair proves it."

When this happened to this chap, I was flabberghasted.

Brilliant piece of acting by the main lead, I was gripped. Absolutely appalling to judge a man by his looks and his eccentricity. Can't wait for tonight's episode and glad we don't have to wait a week as with most 'dramas'.
