Morning all.

I'd like to thank you to anyone who has donated towards Borneholm Dog Rescue & Rehabilitation.

We've had two donations (I'm assuming from users of AB), I can't see through Virgin Money Giving who and where they came from. I know one of them was from someone here.

The money donated will greatly help us restock our dog food supplies and pay for our outstanding and future vet bills.

Once again, I'd like to say a huge thank you, without you we wouldn't be here.

Regards,
Stuart (Treasurer, Borneholm Dog Rescue & Rehabiliation).

I'd like to show an image of a dog call Marley. He was the first ever dog to come to Borneholm Dog Rescue, in fact it is why Sarah and Mandy started BDRR.

Please be aware that the image on the left of the picture (Before and After) is distressing.

http://tinypic.com/r/bdqtdz/8

After spending 3 hours clipping him we realised that he only had 3 legs attached and the 4th one was actually just matted together in dreadlocks - we honestly didn't know he only had 3 legs. Also after spending 4 weeks with us he unfortunately passed away in Sarah's arms whilst at the vets for a last check up before going to his new owners. It is a sad story but I felt it deserves to be on here; it just shows how much we appreciate any help, be it a donation or even words of supports.

Thank you.

Very sad story Diz. I hate stories of cruelty to all animals, especially dogs.
Question Author
He was sedated whilst he was being clipped as he was distressed.
Poor lad. At least his last few days were spent with people who loved and cared for him.
I was happy to send my tiny amount, yes I know they all add up but seemed so little when I sent it.

If my ship comes in.........gosh I sound like my mother.:-)
Mamya, me too. My cheque is quite small but I've kept the address just in case my numbers come up at the weekend.... then a big fat cheque would be on it's way.

Mamyalynne: If I'm guessing correctly you donated £5. That is far from little, that is a huge amount. We aren't like these charities you see on TV that say donate £5 a month and you'll supply a blanket for a dog or keep him/her warm. £5 will actually keep all our dogs fed and warm for about 1-2 weeks, bare in mind we have 10 dogs :)

I can now thank you personally :) thank you xx
Royal Mail permitting, I hope my cheque arrives on Saturday. It'll certainly be Monday at the latest. Well done for all the wonderful work you do.

People feel guilty when they come to take their new pet home because they can't afford the £100 adoption fee. The adoption fee isn't set in stone, it even says that on the adoption agreement.

Although it's usually Sarah's job to re-home I have re-home a few myself and I had a new owner nearly in tears because she could only give us £10. We accepted the £10, gave her a dog cage, a dog bed, dog bowls a collar and lead. The dog lives in luxury at her house!

I'd like to explain that the reason we set a £100 adoption fee is due to the fact we pay for all the vets bills (vaccinations, worming and fleeing). We've even paid for neutering and castrations; as long as they are done at our vets.
How can she afford to feed a dog if she can only afford to give £10?
Question Author
janbee: Don't mention Royal Mail, you'll curse it lol. No worries :)

Can you put a piece of paper with your AB username in with the cheque so I can reference it in our paperwork. We have to write down where everything comes from and goes. All information you send is kept confidential.
