I've been enjoying the re-run of this series on Drama. Last night ,without explanation, they started from episode 1, without completing the series they had been showing?

If you mean As Time Goes By, then yes, very odd that on Tuesday they showed the last of Series 8, then on Wednesday start with the first of Series 1 when then are 9+ series in all.
