The Last Weekend (ITV)

Anyone else watching this, I have persevered and tried to make some sense of it, what's it about, is my brain just dead or numb?

Hard to want to follow with so many unlikeable characters as the leads.

I watched it too, it's all a series of flashbacks and something ccatastrophic has happened in the meantime. Did you believe Ollie's secret revelation to his friend when they were at the pub? Who was the young boy in the kitchen witht the knife? We're away for the next episodes so I've V boxed it, in case it improves!

I presume the boy with the knife was their son, home from boarding school because he had walked out of school without taking exams etc. I am wondering whether Ollie is actually the son of Daisy and the other bloke whose name I can't remember and was conceived on the evening she was drunk. Am also wondering whether Ollie is out to get his mate for this before he kicks the bucket and also intends seducing his mates wife to get his own back. Mind you I found it boring really.

I am probably completely wrong!!
I can never understand why so many women fancy Rupert Penry Jones.
I recorded it (but haven't watched it yet) just because Rupert Penry-Jones was starring. I find him very attractive. I liked him in Whitechapel and also Persuasion as Capt Wentworth. Mmmm.

sorry I never replied or came back to you last night, the program bored me to so much I fell asleep :)

I thought it was weird too the youngster with the knife, shortly after the rich guy said he wanted to murder someone, rightly put the wind up his friend. As for Rupert Everett, I don't know which guy he is >>>>quick dash out before quizzywig reads this lol
I'm wondering if the The Last Weekend led to the narrator's (can't remember his name) death and he's now a ghost. Odd.
Rupert Penry Jones played Ollie the barrister. He's far too clean cut for my liking ;o).
I quite enjoyed it and lurve R.P-J. I too think the narrator is a ghost and I'll be watching the rest of the episodes.
Me too.
I fancied him far more than Penry Jones!!
I got bored after half an hour, won't be watching the others!

Ye could be right about the ghost, at the start, when he was in the car with the girlfriend,he stepped out and the HGV sped past, maybe it whacked him
I really like the ghost idea, I now think the son's his not Ollie's, Ollie's lying and kills him and his (Ollie's) girlfriend, and I still think Ollie is lying about the illness. Too many Ollies in one sentence, sorry!
dreary, daft, boring, won't watch the rest
Naomi, that's what i thought from the opening, he's dead and relating the story, if so it's bonkers.
As to Rupert, not sure why women like him either, but his wife Dervla Kirwen the actress must, they have been married a while.
