Too long introductions ?

Does anyone find that some introductions to programmes are far too long on UK TV.

I regularly turn on to BBC WORLD NEWS and all that loud drumming and seemingly endless shorts goes on far too long.

I frequently turn to other countries world news which have a short intro and straight into the news.

It's the same with some of the American crime shows. The credits are still appearing 10 minutes into the programme.
Some american shows have the first round of adverts before the credits have finished!

I accept that the BBC WORLD NEWS doesn't have ads but it is updated every 15 minutes which means intros every 15 min as well.
One thing that annoys me on the Today programme is the recent habit for the presenters to introduce in great detail anyone they are interviewing. They do this before the chat and repeat it at the end of the interview.
Which is the programme (I think its a news programme) which "counts down" from about 60 sec (seems like forever!) accompanied by VERY LOUD music, it is really so unnecessary and so irritating ..............
