Why is 'The Goodies' never repeated on any channel? in The AnswerBank: TV

Because it doesn't stand the test of time.

With the amount of garbage on the billions of digitals channels one would have though one would have taken it on though. It's better than most presently aired.

must admit that i enjoyed the show when it was first broadcast but the episodes that were released on dvd a few years ago were very disappointing

The BBC Management don't like it apparently.

There have been repeats however on several channels, the last time on BBC was December 2010.

I have friends in the US that love The Goodies and they also appreciate the dated aspect of the show.
Their two teenage sons love the "Rolf Harris" episode !

We often wonder why "Not the Nine O'Clock News" is never repeated, starring Mel Smith, Pamela Stephenson, Rowan Atkinson, and Griff Rhys Jones.Some of those sketches were priceless and we have never forgotten them!

I liked most of The Goodies and would welcome repeats.

for Canary - BBC management has changed many times since The Goodies was first broadcast. I can't accept that they all don't like it.

I liked 'allo 'allo does that ever get repeats? The Goodies were a bit schoolboyish for me.

I loved it when I was 16 but probably wouldn't appreciate it now. My mates and I spent our last school year eating sherbert dips with liquorice, I've never eaten liquorice since ! That summer I think Stan Smith won Wimbledon and the Goodies were huge on the tele, or is my memory mixing me up?
