Wasn't the actor, can't think of his name, involved in an incident to do with guns at Dover some time back?
As far as Corrie's concerned, there seems to have been a shift in the writing, there's more emphasis on the older people than there used to be, bringing Dennis Tanner back for example, it's a better balance than it was a couple of years ago.
