american law/investigation serieson bbc 2 shown 1991-1994?

does anyone remember an american law/investigation type series shown on bbc 2 in the 90's? it had very dramatic music at the beginning, there was a lead lawyer who used to got to court to prove the innocense of the accused after his team of lawyers/investigators had helped him solve the case. think it may have began with a 'C'???

I dont rememebr if there was a star, a bald guy springs to mind but not 100%. it wasnt la law, i remember that one!
