Big Fat Gypsy Weddings

I am watching this series with mixed feelings, obviously they need to keep their culture alive but oh those awful wedding dresses have to be seen to be believed ! Dare I ask where all the money comes from ?

Villainy I suspect, plus the ability to avoid, tax NI, etc etc etc.
Why are they all Irish ??
Last nights groom was a scrap metal merchant ??????
whwn's it repeated i missed it :-(
They are not all Irish...
Not sure, deffo worth watching.
You can watch it on 4od on you'r computer, I missed the 1st 1 so shall watch it on comp. It does have to be seen to be believed ha ha.
A heck of a percentage seem to be, on that prog at any rate.
do some of them have irish accents despite never having been to ireland? I think some of them just adopt it from friends and family where they dont mix.

also most of them dont 'travel' living in a static pre-fab home and liking horses doesnt really make you a gypsy/traveller. Surely its a lifestyle which includes moving around, and if you're not then you cant really class yourself as such.
They are quie handy to us actually. We do ductwork and they are always coming up to us on sites asking if we have any scrap we don't need, and we usually do. They then flog it off somewhere and keep the cash. We could of course get money for it ourselves but it's hardly worth it for us so it's just easier to give it to one of them.
"They are not all Irish..."

... at least not when they're told to pi55 off back where they came from.
I watched it last night! never ceases to amaze me.
on LBC this morning, the topic was the gipsy wedding, and shame I couldnt sit and listen to all the comments.
I wonder how many fill in self-assessment forms for tax purposes.

No...he was a tree surgeon.....they showed him working,....and he seemed quite well spoken.
Would they let themselves be filmed if they were ALL cheating the taxman?
Hi Pasta, yes, I saw that but to-days paper said he was a scrap metal merchant.

Mind you, it was the daily mirror.
Thank you Booldawg!

I made that comment last night, on another thread about this programme. I saw one particular abode (for want of a better word) that was a chalet type bungalow, complete with a brick wall round it- so where's the travelling involved in that?

Also mentioned was one family who haven't moved anywhere for 6 years.....
He was as much a tree surgeon as Sqad is a brain surgeon.

<apologies for the name drop, Sqad, lol>

dotty- that's an awful accusation.
