Where abouts in Co. Durham does Jennifer come from? Has Darnell had some kind of Simon Weston accident?

I had to look up Simon Weston then to see. No not at all, darnell is not a burns victim, he is an albino. And who cares about Jen, further away from me the better :-)

I have to agree that I too was shocked that Simon Weston had to be looked up. But Darnell seems to have odd eyes, not pink (they may well be) but swinty and crossed and he said once mentioned that maybe something would make his eye sight good. Do albino's suffer with sight problems I remember the film 'In the shaddow of the moon' about an albino and he also wore sunglasses all the time. Can they not see properly?

Darnell said to one of the other housemates right at the beginning that his eye sight was very poor and that he could only see blurred shapes - when he reads he has to look really closely.

Albino's have no skin or eye pigment. Darnell prob' has to use sun block and bright light would hurt his eyes. Thus, people from hot countries have brown or black eyes to filter strong light.

Thanks, CherryElm; 14 answers before I got an answer. Forgivness to all who did not know who Simon Weston was; it's quite a long time since he was in the news and a lot of people have grown up since then.

You did ask if Darnell had some kind of Simon Weston accident.????? Is that not a question? And unanswerable one at that as I'm not sure war wounds can be described as an 'accident'..

Albinos do often have eye problems , including strabismus , RAM , and sensibility to light .
