DAB radio signal cutting out

I've just splashed out on a Bush DAB radio (over 50). It is not possible to listen to it. At all times I have the aerial fully extended and it sits on my kitchen worktop. As I walk around the kitchen, particularly when I am in close proximity to the set, it just cuts out and enters 'tuning' mode for 5 or 6 seconds then comes back on. If I then walk away and then turn back towards it the same thing happens. I live in Greater Manchester and never have any trouble with mobile phone reception. What can I do apart from remaining absolutely motionless whilst listening?

First, go here:

Enter your postcode and check that you're in a digital reception area. If so, print out the page and take it, with your radio, to the retailer who sold you the receiver. State the the item sold is not 'fit for purpose' and demand a refund in accordance with your statutory rights. (Then buy a better make of receiver, either from the same retailer or elsewhere).

If, however, the postcode checker shows that you're not in a current digital reception area, then there's nothing you can do other than to wait for the transmitter system to be upgraded.
