It's not a programme I watch, so please forgive my ignorance, but can anyone explain the timelines to me. I seem to recall the programme starting about 20 years ago, with Nick Berry as a cop in the mid-60s. Over the years, characters like Derek Fowlds have grown older and retired, but the programme still seems stuck in the mid-60s. Is there a time warp in operation?

Don't think I saw a kiss either, but had switched over half way through as the storyline seemed to be getting unreal and the policeman too naive for words. An old edition of Monitor with Philip Larkin and John Betjamin was much better. I did turn over for the last few minutes though and saw no kiss.
