very sad to read of clive hornbys death i thought of all the soap actors he was one of the best surely be missed by all the cast &crew and of course many others i bought a 7" single in the 60s "be my girl by the dennisons, he was the bass player in that group.

It is very sad, deggers.
I've just been looking at some early pics with Matt, Dolly, Ma Sugden and the original vicar ( can't remember his name) and think just how long I've been watching it on and off. I think we were hoping that he would be back eventually, so this is especially poignant. The details are being kept private, so we don't know the cause of death at the moment, not that it matters. Much too young.

I think he died of kidney cancer. It is a shame he kept it quiet as I thought things had moved on with regard to cancer being kept secret.

Used to live near to where it was filmed,i ran a pub and had the actor Frazer Hines coming in to just to use the loo lol,and also the actress who played the original Dolly Skilbeck,think she is now advertising stanna stair lifts,met Clive a few times a gentleman always!!!
