It might not be true, well I'd be very suprised if it is! She's a big name now I'm sure corrie wouldn't turn her down!!

Question Author
i was watching the soap journalist on tv today and she seemed quite sure about it, if she doesnt know something she normally says its only a rumour.
Casting depends on what they are looking for notwho you are.
You read it wrong - it was "Currynation Street" not corrie.....
Perhaps she was put off with Richard Gere being the new Jewish American family who take over The Cabin.
She did audition for a part in a new family that is coming in to the street, via Devs new girlfriend (yet to arrive) and Shullpa got the knock back.
They can`t give Shilpa the knock back, that`ll be racism at it`s worst
Maybe she insisted on singing and dancing Indian style in every scene.
lol @ Velvetee
I get the impression she lapped up the "racism" she got on BB and used it to her advantage
Maybe she could land a role in Eastenders as that annoying Indian womans sister

Actually, Velvetee is closer to the truth than yoiu may think.
Bollywood films are a mile away from soap dramas, about as different as a Michelin restaurant dinner and chip shop chips.
Bollywood is a very particular cultural style of film - lots of intricate dance movements, facial expressions, and so on, and being good at that, which SS clearly is, is no indication of being able to play in a British TV series, so she may have not been successful at audition, but that's simply because she lacks a particular set of actuing skills, not that she does not have any other specialist skills - her reputation indicates that in Bolywood terms, she is supreme.
