I don't mean author, though. I'm thinking journalists, anyone who writes a magazine column, or a blog, anything like that...

There's a chap called John Florrence(sp?) who has a show on Radio Leicester, but occasionally he writes the opinion column for the local paper as well. He has a lovely knack of saying exactly what many people are thinking, and is very good at the polite 'up yours'.

I've met him on several occasions, as my hubby works with him from time to time, and I have to say he speaks as he writes - very honestly, but oh, so gentlemanly.
robert crampton, write in the times magazine on a saturday.. love his column
I love jane Moore in the sun, 9 times out of 10 i agree with everything she has to say.! also, i really enjoy reading Jeremy Clarksons column on a Saturday! he calls a spade a spade and isnt afraid of offending anyone with his honesty!
John Wainwright who writes a mystery thriller with himself as the solver of mysteries. His books are well worth reading but read them in sequence as the books all have a thread that follows on from the first book to the last one.
Nancy Banks-Smith, who writes TV reviews for the Guardian. She can make me laugh hysterically, especially when she's reviewing the soaps.
Although I can't stand the paper generally, Ally Ross reveiws the telly for the Sun and is Brilliant!! Check him out!
Mrs R's favourite is A.A. Gill in the Sunday Times "Culture" magazine (he's the TV critic)
My favourites are: Jeremy Clarkson (Sunday Times again), Brian Sewell (who writes an arts column in the Evening Standard on Fridays and a motoring column in the Indy) Minette Marrin (Sunday Times) - always talks common sense; Peter York on style and advertising in the Independent on Sunday (what he doesn't know about style isn't worth knowing).
