Film producer sought

I am a short filmmaker and am finding it impossible to find a producer. I even joined the New Producers Alliance and still nobody there wants to know (without even reading the script). Is it that difficult to find someone? Also why is it so hard to raise film finance in the UK? I don't need much - around 7000. I've tried everyone. Am I just that unlucky? How do others do it?

I know a couple of Producers but they work full time but both in TV done films as part of series ie shorts for factual stuff - one has done short drama stuff - would they be working for nothing or having to put money into this project?
Hi - I work in the industry if you want you could send me scripts - show reel (if you have one) and I will give you my honest opinion in terms of if/where you may be able to get finance.
