Current M&S advert on telly September 06

My Wife says its XTC the current song running on M&S advert, something about ....a glass of champagne any ideas please I can't remember who or when it was released?

I believe the song is called Glass of Champagne by Sailor.

How DARE your wife attribute that song to XTC! Not that it's a particularly bad song, just that XTC are in an entirely different league, in my view.

From memory I'd say it was about 1972. Sailor also did (the probably more well-known) Girls Girls Girls.
