Tilly and I were enjoying the last rays of sunlight. She was playing with her Boomer ball and I was sitting watching the sparrows flitting about. Unbeknownst to us both, there was a cat lurking in the woodland area of the garden and it suddenly decided to make a run for it across the lawn.
Tilly saw it and gave chase. It scrambled up the fence and into next door's garden. Unfortunately, next door's dog was also in their garden...

It was me!
Nooooo!!
I hope the cat was OK. I can't bear hearing of animals suffering.
Me too sj
I used to hate cats. My father brainwashed me! Now I have one, I love them. I also love dogs but would upset me to think cat might be hurt....

I take it that young Tilly isn't much of a cat lover. I hope that your neighbours dog is.
Will no-one think of the poor sparrows in all of this?
I bet the cat out runs the next door neighbours dog.
The suspense of not knowing if the cat got chewed up is almost killing me.
You beat me to it Tony; my money's on the cat - too fast and way too clever
I have everything crossed that it's a happy outcome all round. I don't like the idea of anything suffering.

But I'm not totally optimistic...
Yes cap'n it would have to be a very fast dog to catch a cat over a short distance sprint.
Yes, what about the sparrows? I think they survived this time. I love birds too.....

The sparrows were fine...
Hurray!!!!

What about the cat?
Question Author
The cat jumped back over the fence...Jack Russell on one side, Staffie and me on the other side...
And.....?

My money's on the cat
I'd guess that the cat ran over your garden and scrambled over the other fence, Yilly ?.
Question Author
The cat ran... Tilly gave chase again... and the cat scarpered up our acacia tree. Tilly stood guard, circling the base of the tree. I had to put her collar and lead on to get her back into the house.

As far as I know, the cat's still up the tree.
Tilly is exhausted. Cat 1, Dogs O. Thank goodness!

The end of that little story.

Thank you - relief all round!

:-)
