Are Television ads deteriorating? at one time you could get a laugh from them, they were witty, ironic and entertaining. The Hamlet series for instance - I once had to try to explain to an American colleague why fish jumped out the river when Russ Abbot played Des O'Connor underwater......this guy loved the ads even though he didn't always understand them.
The latest craze seems to be people just jumping about - maybe I need an interpreter now......

To be honest Rob, I avoid commercial TV like the plague, primarily because of the ruddy adverts !
I watch very little telly. (Usually just my daily dose of 'Last of the Summer Wine' on Drama). However I still seem to see some impressive ads, even if the only thing being advertised is an advertising agency!
There always have awful ones.

Remember shake and vac, or I'm going to pop at Paul's?
Bloody autocorrect.

I meant the poo at Paul's ad.
I never watch any adverts. I record all my programmes with Freeview and then fast forward through them. Haven't missed them at all!!
The Aldi ones can be amusing, especially with Jean.
I also like Direct Line's 'on your bike, Buster'. I'm easily amused.

Cat and budgie was fab.
I don't get the MoneySupermarket ads. Why would a bunch of men in high heels and denim shorts make me want to buy insurance from them?

I usually watch things on Catch up so I can whizz through the ads.
Poo at Paul's, hopkirk? What was that?
That was a little boy who wanted to go to Paul's house to poo - can't remember if Paul's mum bought better toilet roll or air freshener. Maybe it was moist toilet wipes.
Ha! Found it

I like all the Specsaver ones. Both the eyesight and the hearing aid ones.

Love this version. The original follows it. Howled laughing at it!
My favourite was the Martini ad with Leonard Rossiter and Joan Collins. Poor Joan could never avoid the Martini, did she ever get her own back on Leonard?
hc....I hadn't seen that poo ad before ! God awful IMHO, and don't even get me started on the ruddy shake and vac !
I still think some ads are funny. My particular favourites at the moment are the current Aldi advert (the one with the teddy) and Vladimir the vampire ones, can't remember what he's advertising, I wanna say a phone company?
I too love the Aldi teddy - poor wee soul with his batteries chafing!

The 2nd Vlad ad isn't quite as good as the first, (It's not ketchup!), but I don't think it'll be too long before the lad gets his break on telly. He's got a very expressive face.
Virgin games- that's what Vlad's advertising, I had to check on Google, was bugging me :-)

I agree, he's brilliant. And yeah the first one was funnier, but I still found the 2nd one amusing.
Vlad is brilliant! 'Its not ketchup'. Specsavers cat in the vets one is great too, makes me laugh every time. The one I don't understand is the one where the woman is explaining why she stopped wearing make up - the one with the tree. I drift off half way through as its so boring and irrelevant.
Thinking about it the one that gets right on my proverbials is the one with the kids asking how clean people feel after going to the toilet. Those and the nappy ones always seem to be on around mealtimes and make me want to puke.
