Thought he looked troubled and unhappy (and old) - same on The One Show the other night

He looked as if he didn't want to be there, as he was on The One Show the other night.

I thought he was quite funny at times, but he does look old and haggard, and surprised he is going on a tour starting next year, but some of them, dont know when to give up.

Brotherhood of Man were on Pointless early on, and they are still touring!!!!

Andy... Maybe when people on forums are talking about how old, haggard, look troubled, unhappy, and cant sing as good as they could.

I didnt know he had a drink problem?

If every professional recording and performing musician stopped because someone somewhere said they were not good enough, for a million potential reasons - the music business in the world would cease overnight!

To me Phil Collins has always looked older than his years but that has not stopped me enjoying his music.

He is also going through a very difficult time in his personal life. Its a sad fact that in order to sell music you have to put yourself out there, probably at a time where he would rather shut the door and ignore the world!

I think Mr Collins is experienced enough to fully understand that although he is a supremely talented musician and songwriter, his public profile leads a lot to be desired.

Part of the machinery of cranking his career back into life after a long layoff is to tour, and that requires the pre-tour press jamboree.

Like all musicians of his stature, Mr Collins can avoid all the day-to-day interviews, and simply do the top-end chat shows and Sundays, but even that means tedious questions about little other than his private life and his fame, and money.

So he does them, maybe with a little less grace that professionalism demands, but he is doing them, and then he can get on with being a musician again, which is really what it's all about, and only what it's all about as far as he is concerned.
