Why isnt Simon Cowell & Holly Willoughby on the new five pound note? They seem to represent the UK these days, surely they are our National Treasures? What about Amanda Holden & Philip Scoffield on the new tenner? Again, wonderful credits to the United Kingdom....

convention says that those who appear on currency (apart from the monarch) have to be deceased.
If Amanda Holden was on the note, they'd have to have a couple of raised 3D spots, and the notes would get get jammed in ATMs.

I'm expecting about half of ABers to get my drift here.

convention says that those who appear on currency (apart from the monarch) have to be deceased. // That can be arranged.
Philip Schofield for one wouldn't be impressed. I'm sure he'd like his name spelt correctly on the tenner.
Credits to the United Kingdom?
The only credit involved with that lot is in their bank balance.
None of them represents the UK that I am familiar with. In fact, with the exception of Simon Cowell (who I believe judges one of the many amateur "talent" shows on peak time TV), I 've never heard of them.
Talking of the new fiver - you know you are supposed to give the first one to charity
