The actor who plays Shariff in Corrie has been sacked for making racist tweets, do you think this deserves instant dismissal?

yes !
Yes
there have already been high profile sackings because of inappropriate remarks made by Corrie actors in their real lives..ought to have known better
Yes.
Absolutely.
I imagine anyone playing the part of an 'Alahan' would have been very offended....
Sorry, no. Could have given him a suspension and a warning maybe.
Absolutely.
HereIam there's no excuse for a public figure to be so blatantly racist.
He had to go.
Don't agree.
I'd have sacked him not for what appears to me to be a drunken tirade, but for being an idiot. I don't employ idiots.
especially given that he is what can be considered an ethnic minority in this country...
Interesting to see how he will be written out of the show now.
his affair will be discovered and he will leave in shame !!
He'll run off with the floozie he's having the fling with. One day the family will wake up and they'll be gone.

The actor who plays his wife, Shelley King, is Ango-Indian and Jimmi Harkishin who plays Dev has an Indian parent.
I wonder if he'll still appear for a while as they film weeks in advance ...
hereIam . . . Interesting to see how he will be written out of the show now.

A vacation to India maybe?

Maybe not!
I think they will, hereIam. They can't write and film Monday's episodes today ready for broadcast. They may cut some scenes later on but I'd be surprised if they do.

Lot of re-writing going on as well.
Yes. The storyline went quite bizarre when they had to fill in Deirdre's scenes.
good grief. Yes, he had to go. Everyone would be throwing things at the screen every time he appeared; it wouldn't be possible to see him in character any more.

But I'd say much the same whatever job he had, really
