My frying pan recently died, I rarely used it but wish to cook bacon today. usually stick it in the oven but it always seems to look undercooked.

Can I fry bacon in a wok? I may have to look for it as it is a while since I saw it last.

If not I will go and buy a frying pan.

I manage to kill pots and pans - usually by fire or welding of food to the pot - far too often.

I am off back to bed, it is chilly and I am not going out until this afternoon's trip to Tesco.

Well, if the old steam engine drivers used to fry their bacon and eggs on a shovel, I'm sure using a wok would be no problem.
Yes, you can. It sounds to me like you cook it on a too heat setting. Much better at a lower temperature for longer. Turn it over every now and again.
Don't see why not. I would if I didn't have a fry pan.
I've cooked on a shovel many a time Bhg whilst camping out.
I never fry bacon - always grill it, but I'm it would be fine to wok it.

The grill had an 'accident' and it is dead. The hobs and oven work though!

That's awesome Wolf.

Ever thought of auditioning for a show called "Kitchen Disasters" ;-)
Good thinking wolfie! :o}
^^ Thar actually made me laugh out loud, not bad for 7am on a Monday morning!
Wok Not.....(why not)

using a shovel - sounds like some pretty huge mouths to satisfy down under.
We build up a healthy appetite DT ;-)
a side of bacon a day - I used to have to prepare them when I was a student, a holiday job working in a wholesaler to the hotel and restaurant business, a retail shop on the side.
A wok is just a deep round pan used for ... er ... frying. Will be fine, although since it's likely to get hotter in the centre, move the bacon around as if you were stir frying it.
you can also microwave it if you haven't killed your microwave lol x

mallyh - there is time for that. I have a short attention span and wander off when cooking.

I went to Tesco and bought a frying pan - and the bacon.

Then I went home and stuck it in the oven. It was cooked but trying to cut my sandwich into 4 pieces took a bit of effort.

Thanks all - my usual cooking guru is currently camping in Wales with his wife and kids.
