But the kids can watch if it goes right and looks safe enough to emulate ? I'd have thought the kids would learn a better lesson if it did go wrong. Not that I ever watched a sword swallowing act and thought, "I really must try to learn to spear my kidneys like that".

He wasn't axed from the final. He was filmed shortly before the live show started just in case something went wrong.

It would be foolish to show his act live.

And yes, death defying acts such as these should be shown on tv.
