Actually, anemia is not a disease per se: It is a symptom of quite a few diseases.

Tilly, that also is a symptom of a deeper (pardon the pun) underlying cause; however, you're somewhat correct in that it is more of a "disease" than some of the many other anemias. I guess, like in a lot of things, there is a lot of subjectivity involved in the descriptions. It would be interesting to see what Sqad has to say about it.
That should be "definitions", not "descriptions".
