Oscars Frox - Missed Opportunities ?

I noticed that some of the women's outfits seen at the latest oscar awards were almost wearable ( at last) - but I was astonished to see all that cleavage with hardly a necklace in sight. Is jewellery going out of fashion ? Or have the big jewellery businesses stopped lending their best rocks for this occasion ?

There was a shortage of jewellery on show I agree, though some outfits didn't need it.
It does seem to be out of fashion now. There were no big rocks as in the times of Elizabeth Taylor.
Jenny Beavan, the winning costume designer, had plenty of bling on the back of her jacket, though. I was glad she didn't feel pressurised to put on a posh frock after the BAFTA thing about her outfit. Not all women feel comfortable being trussed up like a turkey and feeling ridiculous in fancy jewellery. I'm one of them. I might manage a dress, but not a huge necklace and earrings.
I suppose the jewelry companies might be worried about security, nowadays.
No need to gild the lily.
You tell me now, when it's all over, that a boring awards programme had loads of cleavage on view ? Yep, that seems like a missed opportunity to me !
re jewellery, the hatton garden robbers have probably got all the best pieces

I didn't see much 'cleavage' most of them looked like teenage girls - 32a cup anorexics lol

I think probably the big jewelry houses have stopped lending them items -the Insurance must be getting too expensive.
