keep us entertained with the same old repeated TV programmes year in, year out.

The best Disney moments, the best Xmas songs, the best Comedy moments, The most shocking Xmas moments, same old Movies, Chas & Dave Xmas Knees Up from 1982, Morecambe & Wise, repeats of Live at the Apollo, Rude Tube Xmas Cracker repeats, Cooking for Xmas, (as if we didn't know), Dads Army, and as much as I like David Attenborough wild life programmes, to much can be a bad thing.

We seem to have all the latest technology these days, with large flat screen TVs, HD, 3D etc, yet most of the TV programmes are going backwards.

Bah Humbug.

What do you expect?

We used to have 2 or 3 or 4 TV channels, now we have dozens if not hundreds.

TV used to shut down at say midnight, now it goes on 24 hours a day.

Advertising revenue is now spread over hundreds of TV channels rather than just a handful.

So all channels need to find cheaper ways of filling the time.

That is why we get so many "reality" TV shows:- no script to write, no actors to pay, just stick a camera in front of a load of people and film hours if it, then edit it down to a 30 minute show. Easy.

As the famous quote says "TV is chewing gum for the eyes"

If you don't like it do something else, read a book, write a symphony, find a cure for cancer.

Why not just turn your TV off for the whole of January and see how many other things you can do.
Glad I don't buy a TV license...
