Further to my June enquiry I have just tried to get the latest BT offer
BT Infinity for £10 monthly plus line rental.38 mb
I am already paying them £15.57 per month plus line rental and I
am only getting 17.4. I just wanted to know why I am paying so much
more. I have spent nearly an hour on the phone and I am completely
confused with the explanations.. So man hidden charges
£15 for infinity. £45 for some chsnge or applicatiion. £6 new hub
£ 4 for ?. These are only approx prices as My head is in a whirl.
I just wish I had never started.
I wonder if anyone else as experienced this as I find it very
difficult at my age 88.

Hi ianmonger, yes I experienced exactly the same problem as you describe with BT. I was paying for a package of 40mb download and was only get less than twenty. I found phoning a complete waste of time, I went on-line (Live Chat) where the communication is witnessed (i.e on screen). After considerable exchange of messages BT finally admitted that the problem...

Threaten to dump them - they usually respond with a reduced offer especially if you`ve been with them for a while. Sky do some good combined packages if they dont want want to play.
The lack of clarity in Telcoms billing is a national disgrace.

Can only suggest that you pursue the same course that I did and "Don't let the *** get you down".
Good luck.
Do you already have infinity or are you wanting to change to infinity?

Assuming you haven't got infinity, then there is a charge for a new hub - thr others don't work with infinity. There is also an activation fee.

I refused to pay the (£35) activation fee and threatened to move supplier. Outcome Infinity installed free.

Thank you all for your very helpful replies. I must apologize for the delay
in answering but my computer let me down and I was unable to reply
until it was repaired.
I am pleased to say the problem has now been solved. Someone at BT
has seen sense and put things right.
I now have a deal which is:-
Bt infinity 20GB pluis line rental and phone calls for £32.49 a month
which is 7p cheaper than what I am paying now
I feel good now

Have you decided on what to do with your savings, or are you just going to fritter it away ... :-)
